PRINTING United Expo 2025 returned to Orlando this October, bringing thousands of print professionals to the Orange County Convention Center for three days of equipment demonstrations, workflow innovation, business development and industry education. The event continues to serve as one of the clearest indicators of where print is heading, and this year’s show produced a noticeable sense of momentum across every major segment of the industry.

This year’s event gathered more than 30,000 attendees and over 800 exhibitors across nearly one million square feet of exhibit space, with more than 4.7 million pounds of equipment running throughout the hall. The turnout alone suggested a strong appeal for modernization, efficiency upgrades and broader capability across commercial, wide format, packaging, industrial and specialty print markets.

Much of the movement on the floor centered on meaningful hardware introductions. Xerox used the Expo to showcase two new production presses and expanded workflow tools aimed at giving print providers stronger speed and color consistency options. Durst brought a wide lineup of systems, including the North American debut of the P5 500 TEX iSUB sublimation printer and the versatile P5 X flatbed, underscoring the continued demand for wide format and textile applications. Sharp also previewed its next generation entry level production printer and new finishing solutions, reinforcing PRINTING United’s role as a launch point for technologies geared toward both newer providers and established shops expanding capacity.

One of the more memorable show floor moments came from Color-Logic and Unifoil, who collaborated with comic book artist Greg Horn to produce a series of limited edition metallic prints. Across the three days of the Expo, attendees could collect 36 different numbered designs. Each print was limited to 150 copies, printed on Unifoil metallic stock using white plus CMYK inks and Color-Logic embellishment techniques. It added a fun creative touch to the show and served as a reminder that specialty applications and artistic finishes continue to define some of the most attention grabbing areas of print.

Equipment engagement was steady across the show, and several exhibitors mentioned securing direct floor sales or firm commitments from buyers. Much of this was centered on reliability, automation and the basics of running jobs more efficiently. Many attendees were looking at workflow tools that cut down manual steps, tighten turnaround times and keep color consistent across devices. These practical upgrades are what many shops are prioritizing as they prepare for higher demand without adding unnecessary complexity.

The automotive vinyl and PPF section drew consistent interest as well. Attendees spent time around vinyl demonstrations, color shift films, textured materials and PPF installations. A notable development came from manufacturers exploring printable polyurethane films, protective materials that can accept graphics while still functioning like traditional PPF. This approach still seems to be in the early stages, but it suggests a future where customization and paint protection may overlap even more as shops look for ways to combine visual design with durable, long term surface protection.

What stood out across the show floor was the mix of industrial capability, creative applications and practical workflow thinking. Commercial printers, wide format shops, textile producers, packaging providers and specialty printers all approached the Expo with different objectives, yet the underlying themes remained consistent: better automation, improved reliability, stronger materials and technology built for higher output with fewer drawbacks.

As PRINTING United Expo 2025 came to a close, it offered a clear picture of an industry steadily moving forward. The mix of hardware debuts, specialty print demonstrations and buyer confidence throughout the week pointed toward a market ready for its next phase. For many attendees, the show offered a straightforward look at where print technology is heading and which developments may matter most in the year ahead.

Post event remarks from PRINTING United Alliance leadership described 2025 as one of the most successful editions of the show, with record attendance and broad exhibitor engagement. Several manufacturers also hinted at additional product announcements planned for 2026, suggesting that the momentum seen in Orlando may continue as providers pursue more automated, scalable and versatile production systems.
